I have dedicated my life to capturing the beauty that surrounds us all. I
love to photograph in the most natural way possible, so I try to limit my
post production editing. I feel this is a way to challenge myself to capture
this beauty in its most realistic state. I had the fortune of growing up in
Alaska and being surrounded by the shear majesty of nature has led me to
where I am today. I earned my Bachelors degree in Photojournalism and
Fine Arts. I spent considerable time doing portrait and wedding
photography but found my real passion is to be in nature. When I go
on a trip is when I go to “work”! I immerse myself 10-12 hours a day in
capturing what I see around me. I am truly blessed to have the chance to
travel all around the US, as well to a few countries. I hope to continue
traveling and sharing my images with you. Every journey I go on is an
opportunity to reconnect to the world around us and to appreciate all we
have.

Kevin Avery feels incredibly fortunate to be able to call
the ocean his home office. During any given swell you might find him on
the coast of California passionately working to capture the energy of the water
and the pure joy that it brings.
He started his fine art photography business with his father, Alan, and their
simple goal was to bring the awe-inspiring movement and force of the ocean to
people on land.
What ensued has been a journey that has changed Kevin’s life in too many ways
to count. Perfecting the ability to remain calm and effortless in the
water during conditions that are oftentimes quite fierce has become an
obsession he has not been able to shake. Embracing this addiction to getting
absolutely wrecked by waves, he has become a full-time award-winning
photographer.
He is self-taught through trial and error, and over the years he has refined
his skillset at the California Center for Digital Arts in Santa Ana.
When Kevin is not in the ocean trying to get barreled, he loves spending time with
his wife Joanna, son Ellis, daughter June, and golden retriever Baker.
